On Monday, October 16th, Jillian Fisher, Explore Teacher, received the $1000 Mississippi Power Environmental Stewardship grant!  This grant will help fund "The Robotics Project" for the Explore gifted program.  The goal behind "The Robotics Project" is to incorporate a "hands-on, minds-on" robotics plan in each grade level that it serves, which is 2nd - 5th grade.  This will impact at least 80 students.

The grant will help to incorporate age and developmentally appropriate robots that scaffold and build by grade level, to undestand STEM through applying the fundamentals of robotics, coding, programming, and the engineering design process.  Not only does "The Robotics Project" reinforce all of the elements of STEM, the robots incorporated in all of our grade levels stimulate and engage students in the learning process.

Our Pass Christian School District "PIRATE" goals are all interwoven and interconnected into this project, which are Passion, Immersion, Rapport, Ask and Analyze, Transformation, and Enthsuiasm!  Robotics foster an interest in STEM that will motivate many of our students to pursue a career in STEM programs.
