To celebrate Get Your Teach On’s Rock Your School Day, PCES 5th graders experienced a Decimal Diner. Students were able to practice rounding, comparing, adding, and subtracting decimals in a real-world setting. They had to take each other’s orders (and determine the change), round orders to the nearest given place value, compare restaurant totals, and add customer orders to give them a total amount due.
